All Growed Up

As some of you may know, we're looking at making the step towards real wealth. Since the housing market has dropped down to being affordable to us poor people, we're proceeding with a home purchase in Lake Mary, FL. It's a modest 1691 sq ft 3/2.5 with some great features:

- new high-efficiency indoor and outdoor A/C units with heat upgrades
- new windows in all but 4
- plantation shutters to really tell you you're in the South
- a grapefruit tree
- bike path behind the backyard
- hot tub

Now, let the home improvement projects begin! Painting, light fixtures, kitchen, bathrooms....sigh

Grapefruit? Seriously? You couldn't do any better? Just kidding. That's awesome. When can I visit and tear down the place?

Ha! Kiss all of your free time good-bye! As if four kids didn't occupy enough of it. Seriously though, congrats. It's a big step but one you won't regret.

I could do a whole blog series on all of the stuff I've done to the house since we moved in 3 1/2 years ago. Although I'm pretty good with house stuff, two things I leave to the pros. Electric and Plumbing. Most everything else I can tackle either by myself or with a friend. It's a good feeling to do something productive with your hands. Time to earn that man-card Matt! Oh and you even get to take a soak after all that hard work. I'm a little jealous.

P.S. be grateful for your square footage. Ours is almost double that and all that means is more work!
