In the past, I've just straight up painted it with color picker and a standard brush. This time, I painted it in B/W without any pure black or white, and I will use adjustment layers of Pure Color with blend mode set to "Colorize" on top of the B/W painting. This will mix the colors and keep the palette unified much easier than just color picking with the eyedropper. I can also easily change the colors later on a global level if needed. I can do a post about this technique later after I've completed this painting, since I actually haven't used it yet!

What technique do you use for coloring in pshop. I usually use the lasso tool select an area and fill it with the paintbucket.
